We are One PUG!

We are One PUG!  But what does that mean exactly?  Well, there are 9 regional PUG chapters around the world (and growing!) with one PUG Steering Committee expanding the network of the global GIS Community within the Oil & Gas Industry.

Each Regional PUG Chapter networks within their local community for GIS collaboration including technical presentations, panel discussions, socials, regional conferences, and other events. The Steering Committee leads industry GIS projects and facilitates GIS technical discussions; striving diligently to align the regional chapters supporting the PUG mission and goals. This effort provides a full spectrum of how GIS is used through diversity of thought, culture, national origin, skills and experience.

In January 2014, the Steering Committee engaged Regional PUG leadership across the globe.  The goal is to strengthen partnership between the Steering Committee and the Regional PUGs as the first step to truly begin the integration as One PUG!  By working together, we present the opportunity to improve our partnership and the PUG mission; recognized as the global professional organization for GIS & Geospatial Professionals and users across the petroleum industry.

The phrase “Together, we can be more” is critical to our success as we move into the 3rd generation of the PUG; continuing to lead the way and define the future of GIS in the Petroleum industry.

Help us continue to combine our unique talents and perspectives by joining the PUG or even starting a Regional PUG Chapter in your part of the world! Visit our “Regional PUG” page on our website and contact Gina John, Regional Liaison to learn more about starting a new PUG Chapter.

The PUG would like to thank our sponsors for their support: Blueback Reservoir, BP, Coler & Colantonio (a CHA company), Esri, Exprodat, GeoPropel, Landworks, Schlumberger, TeachMeGIS and Trimble.
