May is Election Month

From May 2nd until May 13th 2016, members of the community can put their name forward for the PUG Steering elections. Online voting will then take place from May 16th to May 27th, 2016.

What’s it like being on the Steering Committee?

Being a part of the Steering Committee is a challenging but rewarding experience. You will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the PUG, improve our global community, help plan the Esri Petroleum GIS Conference, work with other passionate GIS professionals… the list goes on!

Steering Committee members come from all aspects of the Petroleum GIS community and any location. There is a monthly meeting that committee members are expected to attend (in person or by phone) and there is work that needs to be done. Being on the committee requires a time commitment of attending the meeting and usually about 3 hours of project and administrative work a month.

Nominees will need to send in a bio and photo by May 13th, 2016. And because of the required time commitment, it is advisable that you get support from your employer before submitting your name. To apply,  download the election application and email it to the Steering Committee, Visit PUG Election Policy to learn more about the nominations process.

About PUG

We are a geospatial Petroleum User Group community comprised of operators, software companies, consulting companies, data providers and others. We are all working as volunteers to improve the industry’s understanding of and ability to leverage GIS and related technologies.

The Steering Committee leads the PUG and owns the vision, mission, goals and budget. They carry out projects which promote a more active and useful resource for the community.
